Obscene Greenwashing: ExxonMobil's New Altcar

I have not owned a 'personal' car for eight months, and counting.

I am a member of Zipcar, a nation wide car sharing business, and their fleet has some hybrids for rent.

Now check out their new competition: Altcar, the nation's first electric plug-in car share scheme, opened two days ago in Baltimore.

Read their press release and note that ExxonMobil is behind the Altcar initiative.

How ironic that ExxonMobil, the biggest and most obscene Iraq oil war profiteer, is leading this new project!

How to respond if one is tempted to join this new company?

Here are a few ideas:

--Once Altcar has successfully established a strong client base, open a truly green/local economy-based similar company to compete and eventually shut them down.

--Begin a PR campaign and demand that this obscene and cynical greenwashing business, Altcar/ExxonMobil, immediately begin reparations to the Iraqi people and American soldiers who've suffered casualities in Iraq, and definitively clean up it's global path of environmental destruction and human rights abuses.
