On Tuesday March 31, 2009, Chesapeake Citizens, Campaign for Fresh Air and Clean Politics, and United Workers co-sponsored a successful Art for Social Change Workshop by the Backbone Campaign. This event was also supported by OSI fellow/Baltimore activist Betty Robinson.
Folks who joined our standing-room-only gathering represented: Peer2Peer, Baltimore Algebra Project, United Workers, Generations for Peace and Democracy, CASA de Maryland, Iraq Pledge of Resistance, Goucher College (Art and Dance Departments), Maryland Institute, College of Art, University of Maryland, Baltimore County (School of Social Work), B'more Cultured, Morgan State University (Political Science Department), Towson University (Center for the Arts), Baltimore American Indian Center, Nana Projects puppet arts, Open Society Institute, Maryland Coalition for Health Security, Maryland Physicians for a National Health Program, ACORN, and Baltimore Economic Crisis Response Network, among others. Delicious food was prepared by chef artiste Maia Tabet.
